This was a beautiful old farmhouse sitting in a field of poppies. Actually, it was a baby vineyard, too, but I took that part out (artistic license, you know.) I loved the backdrop of the mountains, the contrasts of the greens and reds. Poppies are wildflowers in Provence and might even be considered weeds. I've repeated this theme several times in different mediums and different sizes and it is still one of my favorites.
