Studio Sale

Last year I had a studio sale for the first time in over a decade. This was prompted mostly because I needed the room.  Although it was an invitation-only event, mostly to friends and former patrons, it was a huge success. I guess it pays to be a reclusive artist.  So, I thought it would be a good thing to repeat this year.  I plan it before the holiday rush.  It's a party as much as a sales venue and I'm always delighted at the people who will take the time to drive all the way out to see me and my work.  This year, as last year, was a beautiful fall day, sunny and with temperatures in the upper 60s.  Great company, great food.

Making a decision.  This is the sketch I made after Mary Cassatt. It was great fun to do and a hit with the audience.
Customer Shopping

This is one of my favorite people buying one of my favorite paintings.  You may recognize Kayaking the Little Blue, an oil painting.

Time for refreshments after shopping. After a hard morning of shopping, my patrons were in need of refreshments. I always make my studio sale into a party, with homemade soup (beef vegetable with alphabets this year), homemade bread, desserts, wine and other refreshments. It was a beautiful fall day to sit out and enjoy the sunshine, company and talk about art.
The youngest patron.  Well, you have to start somewhere.  I think she was enjoying playing in the country. A future customer having fun outside.
